Published
Description

This webinar, "Highlights from the MEL Platform Assessment and Program Cycle Resources" was presented By Dr. Tonya Giannoni (PPL/LER/MECap) and Virginia Lamprecht (PPL/LER) on August 24, 2017 to the Chiefs of Party (CoPs) of USAID MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning) Platforms based in USAID missions worldwide.

"MEL Platforms" refer to the portfolio of institutional support mechanisms designed to build capacity within USAID missions to collect, analyze, and use high quality data for strategic decision making and management functions.  Platforms typically include: monitoring (including data management); evaluation (including other studies or analyses); and/or Collaborating, Learning, and Adapting (CLA) support functions.

The purpose of the webinar was to review the highlights of the 2016 MEL Platform Assessment conducted by MECap, and to make MEL Platform staff, including the CoPs and Technical Directors, aware of the best and most current USAID guidance relating to the Program Cycle. During the webinar, the appropriate roles of USAID verus Platform staff was reviewed as it relates to Program Cycle processes and products. The webinar also presents the most important resources to implement the Program Cycle, including the three toolkits available USAID's LearningLab: the Monitoring Toolkit, Evaluation Toolkit, and CLA Toolkit.
