MERL Tech Conference

Event Details

Date and time

October 16, 2015

Event Description

As technology is changing the M&E operating environment, the M&E field itself is morphing from monitoring and evaluating, to include robust research on effectiveness, and a focus on organizational learning. M&E is becoming MERL, and blurring the lines between traditional ‘M&E’, and program management, including using new data-based insights to continuously adapt and improve interventions in real time.

Please register now for MERL Tech, the 2015 edition of the M&E Tech conference. On October 16th, FHI 360, Mercy Corps, and TechChange invite you to join over 275 of your peers and colleagues at Academy Hall in Washington, DC for a deep exploration of four big questions:

  • What does & doesn’t work when using technology in MERL?
  • How can Big/Open Data and dashboards improve decision making?
  • What are the privacy, security and ethical issues inherent with MERL data?
  • Which enterprise-level indicators and IT systems should we be using?

Like last year, MERL Tech will be a community-driven event. Please submit your ideas for presentations and session topics in one of these four areas. Presenters and session leads will play a central role in developing the event and have their ticket costs refunded.

There will be a modest fee to better allocate seats this year, after 700 people tried to RSVP for M&E Tech last year. However, they are still expected to sell out quickly, so buy your tickets or demo tables now. Event proceeds will be used to cover event costs and to offer travel stipends for select participants implementing MERL activities in developing countries.

MERL Tech Conference: 8:30-5:30pm, Friday, October 16th
